Grabbing a snack can be difficult on the AIP but with a bit of preparation you can treat yourself now and again! Brussels sprouts may not sound like a treat but once you have quit sugar for a few months, your taste buds will change, and then these bad boys seem heavenly!
Simply heat up some bacon fat or avocado oil in a roasting tin, plonk in the sprouts along with a sprinkling of maple syrup. Make sure all the sprouts are covered nicely in the fat and syrup and then roast till browned and crispy.
If you feel inclined you could also peel all or some of the leaves off the sprouts and roast these up. The end result is worth it as these crispy sweet leaves are delicious!
